The Chronicles Of Narnia; Prince Caspian: After returning to Earth for one year, the four Kings and Queens of Narnia, are drawn back into Narnia. The Strange Door: Laughton camps it up in this bulky-handed, apparent adaptation of a Robert Louis Stevenson tale of a sadistic squire and his nefarious plans. Karloff has a thankless role as a servant identified Voltan. Cast Charles Laughton, Boris Karloff, Sally Forrest, Richard Stapley, Michael Pate, Alan Napier, and Paul Cavanagh. (81 minutes, 1951)

The Saxon Charm: Well-performed however unconvincing research of cruel creator, with Montgomery cast in a steel role. Still fascinating, with fine work from playwright Payne, spouse Hayward, and chanteuse Stumble. Cast includes Robert Montgomery, Susan Hayward, John Payne, Audrey Stumble, Harry Morgan, and Heather Life saver. (88 minutes, 1948)

The Accidental Tourist: This movie tells the story of Macon Leary, who is listless after the death of his son. This is compounded further when his life decide to leave him because he won’t snap out of it. With a divorce pending he finds himself involved with a new woman, who is helping bring him back to life. Now his wife decides to have him back, and he is faced with more tough questions. William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Geena Davis, Amy Wright, and Bill Pullman star. (1988 Drama)

Bolt: Bolt is a super hero dog, at least in his TV show. The problem with Bolt is that he thinks that he truly does have super powers. When he is accidentally shipped out of Hollywood to New York, he must go on a cross-country journey to get back home. Soon realizing he has no superpowers, he makes some unlikely friends who help him on his journey.

Clouds Over Europe: This 1950s B-film premise is excellent. 2008-fashion through the lens of a video camcorder clutched by a man who starts out shooting a buddy’s goodbye reception and then gets snared up in “recording” everything that occurs. Runs on pristine adrenaline and by no means lets up, with some excellent stuns and a daunting being. Cast includes Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T. J. Miller, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman, and Chris Mulkey. (85 minutes, 2008)

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: After a nineteen-year hiatus, Indy returns with the identical label of high venture that marled the primordial Raiders of the Lost. In 1957 the fearless archaeologist-professor runs afoul of Russian snoops (containing a cunning Blanchett), then follows a youthful gentleman (LaBeouf) who bears a letter from an old buddy, now lost in the forests of Peru, that might lead them to the Crystal Skull of Alcator, and the lost city of EI Dorado. Opens with lots of action then falls into an ease of exposition, then revs into high gear for an eye-filling finale. Ford restores the role he created in fine style. The screenplay was written by David Koepp from a tale by George Lucas and Jeff Nathanson. Cast includes Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, and Jim Broadbent. (122 minutes, 2008)
