Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls: Steve Oedekerk is the director for this film. Ace Ventura (Jim Carey) is back in action. This time he is off to Africa in search of a rare white bat. Jim Carey is goofy, wacky and silly, as usual. Jim Carrey, Ian McNeice, Simon Callow, Maynard Eziashi, Bob Gunton, and Sophie Okonedo star. (1995 comedy) Definitely a Hit!

Black Fury: Hard hitting melodrama in reference to exploitation of coal miners, with Muni as a strong “hunk” who gets in over his head. Practical, and remarkably filmed, but it’s a tad choppy. Muni’s accent makes it hard to comprehend him at times. Cast includes Paul Muni, Karen Morley, William Gargan, Barton MacLaue, John Qualen, J. Carrol Naish, and Vince Barnett. (92 minutes, 1935)

So Big: Shallow although immersing Edna Ferber in regards to professor who brings up child to be independent. Filmed before in 1925 and 1932.Cast includes Robert Prudent, Jane Wyman, Sterling Hayden, Nancy Olson, Steve Forrest, Martha Hyer, and Tommy Rettig. (101 minutes, 1953) This was a classic.

Cul-De-Sac: Macabre comedy in regards to 2 injured gangsters who terrorize middle-aged milquetoast and his gorgeous youthful spouse. Not a total prosperity, although excellent cast and trendy direction make it a victor. Cast includes Donald Pleasence, Francoise Dode, Lionel Stander, Jack MacGowrah, lain Quarrier, and Jacqueline Bisset. (111 minutes, 1966)

The Night of the Hunter: Atmospheric allegory of innocence, wicked, and hypocrisy, with psychotic religious enthusiast Mitchum pursuing destitute kids for money stolen by their dad. Mitchum is amazingly bullying, paired by Gish as prudent matron who takes in the babies. Starkly- prompted by Laughton; his only film behind the camcorder. Screenplay credited to James Agee, from the Davis Grubb novel. Cast includes Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters, Lillian Gish, Evelyn Varden, Billy Chapin, and Sally Jane Bruce. (93 minutes, 1955)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall: Here is a romantic comedy set in a beautiful resort in Hawaii. After being dumped by his girlfriend Sarah, he finally decides to go to Hawaii to get over the loss. Unfortunately, when he goes to check in at the resort, the first person he sees is Sarah, and of course her new boyfriend.

Ace Ventura, Pet Detective: This movie is directed by Tom Shadyac. This is a classically wacky Jim Carey comedy. He is cast as Ace Ventura, a pet detective. The Bliss of Mrs. Blossom: Oddball, primordial comedy with delightful behaviors. Spouse of brassiere producer keeps a lover in their attic for 5 years. The movie weighs down toward the end, although for the most part a pleasure. Cast includes Shirley Mac Laine, Richard Attenborough, James Booth, Freddie Jones, Bob Monkhouse, and John Cleese. (93 minutes, 1968)

(118 minutes, 1971)

If it wasn’t for the efforts of Frank Avery, the kids would be dead too. Now, for the first time since that night, the boys are reunited. With the help of Frank they now pursue the one man that got away from the scene. They want two things, to avenge the death of their parents, and to recover the family riches.
