5. Iron Man

Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is a billionaire, playboy, engineering genius. While demonstrating his companies latest missile in Afghanistan, he is severely wounded and captured. His captors want him to build a missile for them. Instead, he builds an armored suit. This suit saves his life from his injuries, and he uses it to escape.

Returning to the U.S., he continues work on a more advanced armored suit. He then discovers that his second in command at Stark enterprises has been selling their weapons to the insurgents. He returns to Afghanistan, armed in his new suit, to destroy the weapons and prevent his research from falling into the wrong hands.

 4.  The Counterfeiters

The counterfeiters is, surprisingly by its title, a WWII story. This is not your normal war movie. This movie takes a hard look at Jewish collaborations that went on with the Nazis. It is the true story of one of the most spectacular counterfeiting operation in history.

Named “operation Berhnard” the plan had shops set up in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp copying everything from I.D.’s to cash (mostly dollars and pounds). The plan was to cripple world economies with the influx of the phony money, the U.S. and Great Briton in particular. The plan doesn’t succeed, and the movie explains why.

3. Man On Wire

This is a docudrama of a spectacular, and crazy achievement. It is the story of Phillipe Petit, a French street performer, who also has other exceptional skills. One of which happened to be as a wire-walker. In 1974 he decided he wanted to walk on a wire between the, then incomplete, World Trade Center Towers.

With a cast of characters enlisted to help him succeed, he starts planning and training to accomplish this mission. Using much of the real footage and pictures taken when this event actually happened, mixed with restaging of other events, director James Marsh recreates the scene in a brilliant manner. The task of setting up the wire without detection was very difficult. All the things involved are like an Oceans Eleven type of heist. This makes for a real exciting thriller.

2. Wall-E

Wall-e is an animation adventure story. What would happen if man eventually left the Earth, but didn’t turn off all the robots? Wall-E (stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter-Earth Class) has been left to clean up mankind’s mess after they have left Earth. A few hundred years later, he run into another robot, Eve.

After showing Eve a plant that he has found, the adventures really begin. Eve deactivates until a huge ship comes to pick her up. Wall-e stowes away and follows along. Will the humans return to Earth?

1. The Dark Knight

Batman has a plan. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon and D.A. Harvey Dent, Batman plans to knock the crime organizations out of business. After some success, they find things in Gotham are going out of control. The criminal genius behind the mayhem is none other than the Joker.

The Dark Knight is facing one of his biggest challenges as the Joker attacks the city with a vengeance. This is a much deeper and darker look at the Batman comics than in past Batman movies. Stars include Christian Bale (Batman-Bruce Wayne), and Heath Ledger as the Joker.
